Medical Billing & Coding Specialist

General Program Information​
Aztec’s certified billing and coding specialist (CBCS) program
prepares healthcare workers with the skills needed to perform the
duties of a medical coder and biller. This includes the coding of various medical diagnoses, procedures, or symptoms which are then submitted to Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance companies in order to receive reimbursements. This series prepares students to take the
National Healthcare Association certification exam.

In this program students will complete a total of 5 Units. Although this program is self paced, it is highly recommended that students spend a minimum of 10 hrs per week working on the course. It is also recommended that students use a laptop or desktop computer, If you do not have access to one of these devices we can facilitate access to a computer lab at an adult education facility near you.
