Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered below please get in contact with one of our advisors!

Can I participate in these programs if I do not live in one of the stated Tennessee counties?

At this time, the SCTWA is only providing these programs free of cost to the counties listed. You may reach out to your local or state adult education services to see if a

similar program is offered near you.

What if the class I want to take is currently full?

We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so the class you want to take may not have an available seat at the time you sign up. Your name will be put on a waiting list; when one participant graduates, their seat will become free for the

next person in line to take!

Is there a fee associated with the state certification test?

At the end of our programs, students will be required to take a state certification test! These tests do have a fee; however, we have the ability to financially support our students

for the cost of the test.

What if I start the program and cannot finish?

If you are unable to continue your program for any reason, you should contact your program coordinator/advisor as soon as possible. The same is true if you will be gone for vacation or an extended period of time and will not be able to work on your assignments. Communication with your advisor is essential for our program to run smoothly for you and everyone involved.

Can I go through multiple programs?

We encourage eager learners; however, you are only able to take one course at a time. If you are interested in another course after the completion of the first, get in contact with your advisor to talk about your options.
