Introduction to Medical Terminology

General Program Information

Aztec’s Introduction to Medical Terminology course provides an overview of medical terminology for anyone entering a healthcare field. The course introduces learners to the root words, prefixes, suffixes, and combining forms that are the essential building blocks of medical terminology. This course also covers common medical abbreviations and symbols as well as the medical terminology used to describe diseases, conditions, and medical procedures. By the end of the course, learners will have a basic understanding of the medical terminology used across various healthcare settings.

In this program students will complete a total of 5 Units. Although this program is self paced, it is highly recommended that students spend a minimum of 10 hrs per week working on the course. It is also recommended that students use a laptop or desktop computer, If you do not have access to one of these devices we can facilitate access to a computer lab at an adult education facility near you.
